Introducing: Bart Hilhorst

Bart is responsible for hosting and support at Garden Connect. We’d like to introduce you to him in this blog!

Hosting and supporting customers at Garden Connect means Bart is a Jack-of-all-trades. He takes care of the support mailbox together with Frank and Edwin. Besides that, he arranges website hosting and he helps out with go-lives of new websites and webshops. “Besides that, I monitor our servers. If a website doesn’t work, I ensure a fast reaction by our developers.”
 

Support

Before Bart started working at Garden Connect, he worked in support for another company in computer software. Before that, he studied ICT management. At the beginning of November 2018, Bart started his job at Garden Connect and his first impression was positive: “I was nervous, but I was welcomed with open arms, so that was a great start. I had to learn a lot in a short period of time, but I’m glad that I got a lot of help so getting up to speed was a smooth process.”

Bart’s favourite plant is the Monstera. “In general this is a very nice plant and it really takes up space in any room. The leaf is not just one part, but it’s nice and unique.” When Bart is enjoying his time off, he enjoys walking, reading, Netflix and expanding his lego collection. 
 

Server migration

So far, Bart is most proud of the migration of all servers that took place at the end of last year. “This went pretty smoothly and I’m proud of that. It was a huge task, but our clients didn’t notice anything so that’s great.”

Currently, Bart’s biggest priority is gaining more knowledge of the Garden Connect CMS, having recently moved from Bratpack (Garden Connects old sister company).
